What's the difference in sound between the New Drum beaters?

A big part of your bass drum sound depends on the features of the bass drum beater you’re using: materials, weights, shapes and sizes affect your sound.
The New Drum beaters, thanks to the fusion of the peculiarities that distinguish it from the other beaters on the market, allow to generate a clean and definite sound with great loudness.

In particular, the sound qualities of our beaters are due to:

• the shape: the appearance of New Drum Beaters was designed with the purpose to make an aerodynamic and perfectly balanced shape at the same time, to facilitate control in a comfortable way and to allow you to reach high speeds;

• the materials: New Drum makes hard beaters (completely in resin or wood and resin) that produce a direct and very strong sound attack, with a full, precise and very clear sound. The wood of our beaters has its own harmonics that join wonderfully with the harmonics of the bass drum;

• the hitting surfaces: even if they are hard beaters, we want to offer to every drummer the possibility to modulate the sound through the different available hitting surfaces. In the table below we have inserted the characteristics of all the different hitting surfaces (felt, rubber, leather, nude surface);

• the weight: besides the surface, it's also essential to choose the weight because it affects the dynamics used when playing, for this reason we have divided our collections of beaters into three weight groups: Light, Classic, Heavy. Between every category there is a weight difference of about 10/15 grams, however not all the beaters of the same group have the same weight, it's rather complicated because of the craftsmanship. For example a Classic beater can weigh from 30 to 40 grams. The same speech does not apply to beaters sold in pairs, those for double pedal always have the same weight!

As stated earlier, the collections of New Drum beaters are divided into three weight groups to allow every drummer  to identify their ideal beater according to their music genre.

• LIGHT: lightweight, compact, super fast with typical punch of New Drum Percussion;

• CLASSIC: versatile and very balanced. This is our classic bass drum beater;

• HEAVY: balance, loudness and punch, all New Drum beaters features exalted in one.
